Valerie creates policy guidance and tools to support the network of age-friendly communities and other local authorities looking to implement age-friendly interventions.
Valerie works in the Localities team to conduct research and create policy tools that aim to make age-friendly interventions more accessible to communities across the UK.
Previously, Valerie worked as a Policy Analyst at the Department of Housing Preservation and Development in New York City, where she used data to model outcomes of different affordable housing policy proposals.
She has a Masters in Public Administration with a focus on Urban Innovation and Policy- her thesis focused on using arts-based methods for community engagement around issues of women’s feelings of safety in public spaces.
